invite to the
First International Congress on Feminist Economics in Latin America and the Caribbean
"Feminism, Women, and Economics in Latin America and the Caribbean"
Requirements
- Participation is open to all interested in sharing their research on feminism, women, and economics.
- Submit your abstract by May 10, 2024, through the following link: https://ee.kobotoolbox.org/x/bApcVLK6. We encourage the submission of presentations oriented to stimulate discussions that will advance our understanding of those topics. The abstract must be in PDF or Word format, it must consist of a maximum of 150 words, and have a coherent structure complying with acceptable rules of argumentation, writing, and spelling, clearly describing the problem, methodology, and results. This document will be submitted to the jury for evaluation. Submissions will be accepted in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
- Fill in the registration form by May 10th, 2024, which is available at the following link: https://ee.kobotoolbox.org/x/bApcVLK6. For collaborative works, specify the name of the corresponding author.
- The jury, composed of the Organizing Committee of the Congress, will select the accepted presentations, and their decision will be final and non-appealable.
- Selected participants will be notified of their participation in the Congress via email before May 15, 2024.
- Complete presentation must be submitted no later than August 2, 2024, to the following email address: desegecon@correo.iiec.unam.mx.
- The chosen submissions will be presented during the Congress by their authors. If a submitted work meets the editorial regulations, it may be included in the book "Feminism, Women, and Economics in Latin America and the Caribbean", co-edited by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Instituto de Investigaciones Económicas and the American University.
- Manuscripts of the works selected by the jury and those proposed by their authors to be included in the book, should be emailed to desegecon@correo.iiec.unam.mx by September 9th, 2024. Those works must be submitted in Word format, with 1.5 line spacing and a 12-point Times New Roman font. Also, it should not exceed 25 pages in length and it must encompass a title, abstract, introduction, hypothesis, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions, and bibliography. Citations and references should adhere to the American Psychological Association (APA) style. Publication will be contingent upon the work meeting the recommendations of the academic evaluations it undergoes.
- The jury will address matters not covered in this announcement.

Venue
Although the Congress will be in person, online presentations will be accepted. The Congress will take place at the Instituto de Investigaciones Económicas, on August 8th and 9th, 2024.

- Abstract submission: From April 16th to May 10th, 2024.
- Acceptance letters: May 15th, 2024.
- Publication of the Congress Program: July 19th, 2024.
- Complete presentation submission: August 2nd, 2024.
